December 2025/January 2026
Dr. Stephanie Santoro
LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Raider Families,

As we close a successful first semester, we are proud to celebrate the many accomplishments of our students in the classroom and in competition. Academically, our students continue to demonstrate dedication and growth, and athletically, the fall season was one to remember. Congratulations to our Volleyball team, State Champions, as well as Football and Softball, both finishing in the top eight in the state. We also applaud our Girls and Boys Cross Country teams for earning top ten finishes statewide. So much to celebrate!

These successes would not be possible without the incredible support of our families. Thank you to our parents and guardians for your involvement, encouragement, and partnership with our school. Your support makes a lasting difference.

As we look ahead to the new semester, we are excited for the opportunities and milestones to come, including celebrating the Class of 2026 and all they continue to achieve.

Thank you for being such a strong and supportive community.

With Raider Pride,

Stephanie Santoro

MESSAGE FROM PTSA

Happy 2026! We are kicking off the Spring semester with gratitude for all the incredible work done by our wonderful volunteers during the fall.

It’s important that we thank our outstanding Executive PTSA Officer team, who serve the Walton community all year long:

VP Programs – Heather Quinn
VP Volunteers – Courtney Morgan
VP Communications – Amy Crowell
Secretary – Kristina Cofer
Treasurer – Payal Patel
Parliamentarian – Jessica Loewy

A huge thank you to Jessica Loewy and the team who got the PTSA online parking spot auction up and running! This fundraiser is truly a win-win for Walton families, as the funds raised directly support the programs PTSA provides for our school community.

On December 12th, Walton PTSA co-chairs Alison Krizner and Shay Greenie, along with their committee and the Walton Foundation, hosted the Walton Holiday Luncheon for faculty and staff. Thanks to these amazing ladies and the many parents who baked homemade desserts or volunteered their time to serve, the event was a huge success. The Walton Fine Arts Department provided entertainment throughout the day, making it a festive celebration for all.

As always, we could not provide such strong parent representation on campus without our wonderful families. Our volunteers take time out of their busy schedules to support our school and its community. With that said, we are always looking for additional support, so please reach out if you are interested in giving back to the school community this year.

With that said, the January PTSA General Membership Meeting will be held on Monday, January 26th at 6:00 PM, prior to Sophomore Night. During this meeting, we will elect our Nominating Committee, which will be responsible for slating officers for the 2026–2027 school year. The slate of 2026–2027 PTSA officers will be determined by this committee. We are seeking volunteers to serve on the Nominating Committee as well as individuals interested in joining the Executive Board for next year. Please email us at waltonpresident@gmail.com.

GO RAIDERS!

WALTON HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION

2ND ANNUAL SHOP WITH A RAIDER

Under the stewardship of Walton administration and faculty, and with the spirit of giving led by the Student Leadership Council (SLC), student athletics, clubs and organizations, Walton celebrated the second annual "Shop With a Raider" December 13th. With donations raised by the Walton students, the Raider community provided a day of fun, food and festivity to 40 young students from local East Cobb elementary schools. Thank you to East Cobb Target and Chick-fil-A for their support of this event, along with many teachers and student volunteers who helped make this event a huge success!

DECEMBER “NAME A CLASSROOM” DEDICATION

The Walton Foundation offers the unique opportunity to submit a request to name a classroom. The opportunity is extended to donor families at the $5000 level. Upon designation, an etched glass plaque is placed at the entrance of the classroom with either a dedication or name of an honorary designee. All submissions are reviewed by administration prior to installation to ensure compliance with Cobb County regulations and recommendations.

The Walton High School Foundation is pleased to recognize our most recent “Name a Classroom” donor: the family of Steven Xu. Our generous benefactor described the dedication as a Chinese inscription to the Apricot Altar, a symbol representing Confucius and his instruction of students beneath an apricot tree. In this tradition, the apricot altar represents learning, wisdom and the lasting relationship between teacher and student. This gift will support academic achievement as well as mentorship, curiosity, and the enduring values of education. The Foundation extends sincere gratitude for this meaningful gift.

WALTON ART
WALTON ATHLETICS

Winter sports are off to a great start! The Boys and Girls basketball seasons have continued their strong seasons. The girls are 9-6 as region play gets underway while the boys have a 16-1 record.

The swim and dive teams have continued a good season as they head into the busy part of their schedule.

The wrestling season has gotten off to a great start. The boys had a strong showing at the McCallie Invitational in Tennessee against many top programs in the southeast.

Football finished an impressive playoff run with victories over McEachern and East Coweta before a close quarterfinal loss to Valdosta.

The football team saw two athletes sign to colleges to play. Congratulations to Noah LaVallee who committed to Florida State University and Jude Cascone who signed with the University of Alabama!

WALTON CHORUS

Congratulations to 9th grader, Timothy Guo, on his placement in the Georgia All State Reading Chorus. Timothy only missed ½ point on the audition and is one of 25 tenors in the state of Georgia to attend.

WALTON DRAMA

Serving Our Community with Heart

This season, our students have truly embodied the spirit of servant leadership through a variety of meaningful community outreach efforts. Walton Drama students kicked off the season by wrapping more than 100 teacher doors to raise funds for a family in need. Thanks to the generosity of our faculty and staff, Walton Drama was able to provide the family with essential household items, clothing, coats, shoes, and gifts to help support them during the holiday season.

In addition, a school-wide food drive—spearheaded by SGA and Drama—collected enough donations to completely refill The American Legion’s emergency food bank for veterans. Students also gathered diapers and formula to donate to shelters serving women and children in crisis.

The compassion, generosity, and willingness of our students to serve their community is truly inspiring.

WALTON FBLA

Some Walton Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students were able to qualify for the State Leadership Conference during their Fall Leadership Conferences in Athens, Georgia.

These are the Walton students who qualified:

Max Caplovitz placed 1st in Job Interview.

Indira Lakshmanan, Aishu Srinivasan, and Aaruhya Tummala placed 2nd in Social Media Strategies.

Connor Mattice placed 3rd in Job Interview.

Chetan Buchi, Nabil Hossain, and Nihal Viswanatha placed 4th in Financial Planning.
