SUBJECT: Raider Review February 2026

February 2026
MESSAGE FROM PTSA

Hi Walton Community,

The first two months of our spring semester have been busy and exciting. Thank you to everyone who has helped make our Walton Community even stronger. Please be on the lookout for additional requests in our e-blasts and on social media as we continue to support our school during these important spring months.

We held our January PTSA General Membership Meeting on January 26th via Zoom. Thank you to everyone who was able to pivot to the online platform to attend. During the meeting, we elected our Nominating Committee, which will be recruiting officers for the 2026–27 school year. Thank you to Dr. Stephanie Santoro, Audrey Wilkins, Sarah Cipperly, Leah Humphrey, Shannon Eiser, and Jennifer Hickey for serving on the committee. A special thank you to Audrey Wilkins for leading the Nominating Committee as they identify our next PTSA Executive Officers. We look forward to welcoming our new team!

We were happy to celebrate our Teacher of the Year, Dr. Jesenda League, and our Classified Employee of the Year, Sandra Guevara Medina, along with other Cobb County honorees, at a PTSA-sponsored brunch on February 10th.

We would also like to thank Heather Quinn for doing such an amazing job recognizing our bus drivers, custodians, police officers, and many others around the school on February 13th. We appreciate the willingness of our volunteers to shift with the change in date. The appreciation luncheon was well attended and enjoyed by all.

The Career Fair is coming up on March 18 during WEB, organized by LeRuth Bell and committee. Please encourage your students to attend! This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about different careers and begin developing networking skills. Be on the lookout for ways to support this valuable program.

There are also several Walton PTSA scholarships available for students. The Walton PTSA Raider Pride and VoTech scholarships, as well as the ECCC PTA Margie Hatfield Scholarship, are awarded to graduating seniors. Please check the Sunday e-blasts and the PTSA website for information and applications.

WALTON HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION

On Thursday, December 11, the Walton High School Foundation hosted its second Principal’s Coffee Chat of the school year. Approximately 30 parents joined Dr. Santoro for an insightful session regarding the current year and looking ahead to 2026.

Many topics were discussed including changes to the exam exemption policy, new AP course offerings, the SLC's Shop with a Raider event, and the spring calendar including prom and graduation dates. She also fielded a variety of questions about parking, curriculum, teacher allotments, and more.

Don’t miss out! We have two Coffee Chats remaining this semester. Invitations are extended to donors of the Walton High School Foundation Capital Campaign. We invite you to join us and stay connected with our school leadership!
