Community Outreach
Walton PTSA Community Outreach (WCO) is a student-led, PTSA-sponsored service organization of over two hundred members that supports the community through a variety of ongoing projects and programs. Please click here to learn more.
WCO members sign an agreement to work at their assigned location for a minimum of two times per month for the entire school year. At these assignments, members:
- Mentor and tutor students in the After School Programs at Title I elementary schools in our Cobb County School District including Brumby, Powers Ferry, and Sedalia Park Elementary.
- Interact with senior citizen residents of Arbor Terrace Assisted Living Center through games, music, and other activities
- Complete special projects at Walton every other Monday for community groups including MUST Ministries, After School Programs, and Project Mail Call
After satisfying the requirements of regular assignments, members also participate in extras and special events including but not limited to:
- Cooking Crew – preparing and serving meals for MUST and other organizations
- Cool Girls clothing drive – collecting and distributing items for teen girls
- Engage – gathering with special needs students at Walton
- Semester-end ASP parties for 350+ students at elementary schools
- Semester-end variety shows at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living Center
- Festivals and family nights at the elementary schools WCO serves
